Tea Cosy Pattern – April 2015

By popular demand, we have decided that it was about time we gave you all a Tea Cosy pattern!

Rico Merino Aran

5mm Needles

Tapestry needle for sewing up

Make 2

Cast on 32 using your preferred method

Rows 1 – 5

*K2, P2 repeat from * to end

Rows 6 – 10

*P2, K2 repeat from * to end

These 10 rows for the pattern, repeat until 25 rows are worked (35 rows for a larger size pot)

Now begin decreasing

Row 1 – K2tog, *K3, K2tog rep from * to end (25 sts)

Row 2 – Purl

Row 3 – Knit

Row 4 – Purl

Row 5 – K1, * K2tog, K1 rep from * to end (17 sts)

Row 6 – Purl

Row 7 – Knit

Row 8 – Purl

Row 9 – K1, *K2tog rep from * to end (9 sts)

Row 10 – Purl

Row 11 – Knit

Row 12 – Purl

Row 13 – K1 *k2tog rep from * to end (5 sts)

Cut a long tail and thread through the remaining 5 stitches and pull up tight.

Sew together your two sides, remembering to leave gaps for your teapot handle and spout.
