Description
Hand Knitted Flowers – May 2015
These quick and easy flowers can be made in any yarn and with any needle size,
however, here we used a selection of Rowan Pure Wool DK and 5mm needles.
Special abbreviations
KFB – Knit into the front and back of each stitch (thus increasing 1 every time)
Cast on 32
Row 1 – Knit all stitches
Row 2 – KFB in all stitches
Cast off using the Picot cast off method as follows:
Cast off the first 2 stitches as normal, *Put the stitch on the right needle
back onto the left needle and cast ON 2 stitches, now cast off 4 stitches,
repeat from * to the end.
Leaving a long tail cut the yarn and coil the flower to make a spiral shape,
using the long tail to sew in place and add a pretty button or bead to the
centre.
These flowers would make lovely decorations for the tea pot cosy that we showed
you last month.
