Butterfly Bright has a team of talented people behind it; who do everything from teaching to helping in our shop and behind the scenes – they include:
Alison Nurton – Founder & Director
Alison has been sewing since she was about 10 years old and loves to make patchwork quilts if she has any spare time outside of running the business and bringing up three little ones. Ali is keen on crochet and is starting to find her way around a pair of knitting needles!
Carla from The Mousehole Woolery
The Mousehole Woolery is situated in the heart of the Dorset countryside and is the home and studio of fibre artist Carla Taylor who creates contemporary sustainble 3d wool sculptures inspired by the animals and landscape of the British countryside and coastline using the technique of needle felting. Carla is a very talented tutor and her passion for the craft as well as teaching shines through in the results we see from each of her classes!
Liz is a decorative hand embroidery artist, designer and teacher. Professionally trained at The Royal School of Needlework. Liz is also a member of both the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen and Somerset Art Works. We look forward to welcoming Liz in 2017 to teach some fabulous new workshops.
Ashley – aka Lazy Daisy Jones
Ashley is a keen dressmaker and crafter and writes about all of her amazing projects on her well loved blog Lazy Daisy Jones. Ashley teaches dressmaking classes as well as specialist crochet classes such as amigurumi and also macrame.
Liz Burt – continues to work with us on all our marketing activity including designing and managing our website. See what else she gets up to at Ideas On Food
Caroline has now moved away from Sherborne with her family and we will miss her at Butterfly Bright – you can keep an eye on what she is doing on her blog Happy Thimble and we hope to have her back as a guest tutor from time to time – she may even supply us with some more of her wonderful knitting and crochet patterns!
