Ali Nurton created BUTTERFLY BRIGHT in April 2011 after noticing a gap in the market in Sherborne for fabulous fabrics, haberdashery and making ranges and other gorgeous craft supplies. In May 2012 Butterfly Bright joined forces with Liz Burt’s home, kitchen & interiors shop, HOME SWEET HOME, which was a shop Ali admired since it opened in 2007.
The re-launched Butterfly Bright now offers a unique experience in the town with lovely home and kitchen accessories by local artisans and international designers; a treasure trove of fabrics, haberdashery & sewing essentials and Making Workshops for all ages and abilities. It stocks everything you need to create a beautiful handmade home.
Caroline Bradshaw joined the business in June 2013 and her wealth of knowledge on everything to do with yarn, knitting and crochet is proving invaluable for customers who are flocking to the shop to buy the newly stocked Rowan yarns.
Special thanks go to Brandy Rolison from Mississippi whose website www.appliquemomma.com was the inspiration behind Butterfly Bright’s unique appliqué-style logo. The US and Canada has a thriving craft and making tradition but the UK is quickly catching up!
Butterfly Bright has a team of talented people behind it; from teaching in our Old Stables Workshop to helping behind the scenes - read a little about them HERE
