How it all began…
Alison created the Butterfly Bright brand in April 2011 after noticing a gap in the market in Sherborne for fabulous fabrics, haberdashery and making workshops. Her first shop was in Swan Yard, then in May 2012 Butterfly Bright joined forces with home and lifestyle shop Home Sweet Home in Digby Road, which was a shop Ali admired since it opened in 2007.
In 2016 Butterfly Bright moved from Digby Road into gorgeous new premises upstairs at 81 Cheap Street, Sherborne. The new, welcoming workshop will focus on teaching new skills to makers of all abilities and the shop offers designer fabrics, wools and accessories to complete all your making projects.
Alison is the inspiration and driving force behind Sherborne’s original making workshop. She works with a team of experienced tutors and renowned makers to offer new skills and confidence with making, sewing, knitting, crochet and many other kitchen table crafts.
